Launch to take place after Auto Expo 2016 premiere.
Indian Autos Blog's artist, Shoeb Kalania, has created a digital mockup of the Maruti Vitara Brezza based on the teaser image released by the company last week. The Vitara Brezza, earlier known by its codename 'YBA', will mark its debut at the Auto Expo 2016 with a market launch taking place weeks after that.
As can be seen, the Vitara Brezza will borrow styling cues from the Suzuki iV-4 concept (which also lent its design for the Suzuki Vitara), though in overall length its much shorter so as to duck under the 4 meter length.
Underneath, sources tell Indian Autos Blog that the Vitara Brezza rides on a modified version of the Swift's platform. Engineers had to make modifications to accommodate the large, squarish wheel arches, one of the design elements that gives the Vitara Brezza an SUV-like feel.
Maruti will offer its 1.2-liter K-Series petrol engine and the Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel engine on the Vitara Brezza. Both engines will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and are expected with ARAI-certified fuel efficiencies of 20+ km/l.

Reports say that the Vitara Brezza will be sold through Maruti's regular showrooms and not the premium NEXA outlets which cater to the S-Cross and Baleno.
