Debuts Mahindra's mFalcon engine family.
While spyshots have hinted the Mahindra KUV100 to use a bench-type seat up front, Mahindra did not confirm this feature, or release any images of the interior during the name announcement last week. However, Mahindra Automotive Australia marketing manager James Halliwell, has confirmed to CarAdvice that the KUV100 will sport a 3+3 seating layout.
Speaking to the publication, Mr. Halliwell said - "This is a sub 4.0-metre car, yet has a 3+3 configuration." Mahindra's designers have given the "compact SUV" a dashboard-mounted gearlever to further bolster the idea of fitting two adults and a child up front.
When launched, the KUV100 will introduce the mFalcon engine family for Mahindra. Consisting of three-cylinder 1.2-liter units, the petrol and diesel engine output 82 bhp and 77 bhp respectively. The aluminium petrol motor features dual VVT and churns 114 Nm of torque whereas the low-maintenance diesel engine produces 190 Nm. These engines are expected to be paired with manual and automated manual transmissions.
Four variant lines will be offered on the KUV100: K2, K4, K6 and K8. While ABS is standard across all variants, the K8 offers dual front airbags as part of standard equipment too. However, buyers will be given the option to select dual airbags on the K2, K4 and K6 as well.
