The Royal Enfield Himalayan will compete with the Mahindra Mojo, sporting a 410 cc single-cylinder engine.

The Himalayan is expected to debut at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida in early February. It would be the only new motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s stall at the show. The model is reported to be powered by an all-new 410 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with an oil-cooler that could produce around 28 PS and 32 Nm. The transmission would be a five-speed unit.

The Himalayan City and Adventure variant will share the chassis, powertrain and brakes, but spyshots show that the off-road model would be equipped with a longer fork and a high-mount mud guard at the front. The adventure version would also benefit from a fuel tank guard and a sizable windshield. Luggage systems such as panniers and top cases are expected to be offered as accessories.
