Powered by a new 1.2-liter petrol engine.
The Mahindra S101 is slowly starting to lose its camouflage wrap, and new spyshots of the pre-production prototype reveal the rear bumper design with chrome bezels for the angular reflectors. The images were submitted by IAB reader, Achyuth Vaibhav.
The next big product from Mahindra will be based on a monocoque platform. Rumored to be called Mahindra XUV100, its exterior is more rounded than most of their current products, and will compete against tall hatchbacks like the Maruti Wagon R.
The diesel variant is likely to offer the new mHawk 80 three-cylinder 1.5-liter engine, while an all new 1.2-liter petrol engine co-developed with Ssangyong is confirmed to make its debut in the S101. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and automated manual transmissions (AMT), which will transfer power to the front axle only.
