The diesel engine will also get an automatic transmission.
Sources told Indonesian website Autonetmagz that the 2016 Toyota Innova, which is reported to have its premiere on November 23, 2015, will get features like LED headlights, a chilled glovebox, tilt and telescopic steering and a driving mode selector.
Another report mentioned that the 2016 Innova will be endowed with 'Sport' and 'Eco' driving modes, similar to the new 2016 Hilux. The Eco mode, as the name suggests, will conserve fuel for better economy, though overall, the 2016 Innova could be 10 percent more efficient than the current model.
Toyota will use its new ladder-frame platform for the 2016 Innova, which is expected to grow in size, and offer a more spacious cabin than the outgoing model. Comfort features will include automatic climate control, a touchscreen entertainment system, DVD player, rear AC vents and optional captain's chairs for the second row with leather upholstery.
Autonetmagz reports that the 2016 Innova will be available in Indonesia with two engine options - a 2.0-liter VVT-i petrol and a 2.4-liter diesel from the new 'GD' family. The latter, which will also power the Innova in India, is expected with manual and automatic transmissions. It is expected to have power and torque outputs of 148 hp and 400 Nm.
