World premiere reported on November 23 in Indonesia.
According to a report from Kompas Otomotif, Toyota will offer a Sport and Eco mode for the 2016 Toyota Innova automatic variant in Indonesia, which is already available in its SUV and pick-up derivative - the 2016 Toyota Fortuner and 2015 Toyota Hilux.
Various renders and spyshots have revealed that the second gen Innova will feature a revolutionary styling on an exterior that appears to be slightly larger than the current model. It could potentially be launched with safety features such as ABS/EBD as standard and 7 airbags, including one for the driver’s knee.
Power is likely to be sourced from the new 2.4-liter GD diesel engine, which produces 150 hp and 400 Nm of torque in the 2015 Toyota Hilux. Apart from a standard 6-speed manual, Toyota will also offer a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Toyota Innova will, reportedly, make its world premiere on November 23 in Indonesia. As for the Indian market, it's unclear as to when the second generation Innova will make its debut in 2016. TKM is planning to manufacture 90,000 units of the new Innova in its first year, powered by locally made engines, reports this year stated.
