Could continue with the existing powertrain options.
The 2016 Skoda Superb L&K variant has been snapped again during tests. The fully loaded 2016 Superb is expected to be launched in India alongside the regular variants, sometime next year. The Laurin & Klement edition will feature a slightly spruced up exterior and a plusher interior with more features like heated seats and adaptive dampers.
Based on the parent company, Volkswagen’s MQB platform, the 2016 Superb is 80 mm longer and 85 kg lighter than the current version. As a result, its rear legroom of 157 mm and the boot volume of 625 litres are the best in segment (which is an increase of 30 litres from the outgoing model). With the rear seats folded, the boot space can be expanded upto 1,760 litres.
With an edgier and more aggressive styling, the third-generation Superb is expected to feature the same powertrain options that are offered on the existing model. This includes a 1.8-litre turbocharged petrol engine, and a 2.0-litre turbo diesel motor coupled with a DSG.
