Top-end Skoda Superb L&K variant spotted in India - Spied

With the launch of the 2016 Skoda Superb expected for next year, Autocar India, carrying spyshots, is reporting that the Skoda Superb L&K variant will also be launched in India. The L&K edition is a designer variant of the top-end model of the Skoda Superb that was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2015.

The L&K's exterior is spruced up with 18-inch aluminium wheels, bi-xenon headlamps with LED daytime driving lights and LED taillights.

Named after the founding fathers of the Czech company, the Laurin & Klement edition, gets as standard heated seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive dampers with 3 driving modes, electric adjust front seat with memory and lumbar support, triple-zone climate control, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system, CANTON audio system and bi-xenon headlamps.

The Superb L&K variant will get the same mechanicals as the Superb itself, being powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine mated either to a DSG automatic or manual gearboxes. The Superb itself comes on the company's MQB platform, thereby losing close to 75 kg compared to its predecessor. This platform, along with almost 50 percent of its parts, are shared with the eighth-gen VW Passat, which would also launch in India next year.

The Superb is expected to be launched in India in 2016, but not at the Auto Expo 2016 as some reports claim, as the Czech company reportedy isn't participating in the bi-annual automobile show.
