The compact sedan gets a revised grille, new bumper design with LED daytime running lights on the lower portions, updated alloy wheel designs and two new colors: Diamond White Pearl and Alloy Silver.
The only changes inside the 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer are a redesigned center console with built-in USB port and new seat fabric. Mitsubishi have also revised the equipment list of each variant in the USA, with the base ES trim receiving many standard features such as automatic climate control, foglights, alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and the FUSE handsfree Link system are now part of the ES trim.
Opting for the SE variant adds sports heated front seats, rearview camera and all-wheel control, whereas the SEL gets leather seats, auto-dimming mirror, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers. The range-topping GT trim has 18-inch alloy wheels, a sunroof, rear spoiler, larger disc brakes and a sport-tuned suspension. It is also available with a 5-speed manual or a new generation CVT gearbox.
The 2016 Mitsubishi Lancer continues to offer the same engine lineup, which has the 2.0-liter DOHC and 2.4-liter I4 DOHC MIVEC engine. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a new generation CVT.
