The console is finished in Gloss Black and is dominated by a touch screen infotainment system. There is a generous helping of chrome inside the cabin with embellishments seen on the side air-con vents, door trims and the steering wheel.

There is only one engine on offer, which is the 2.4-liter MIVEC turbodiesel unit that makes 181 hp and 430 Nm. As with the engine, only one 8-speed automatic transmission is available. For off-road enthusiasts, the Super-Select 4WD-II four-wheel drive system now comes with a new Off-road Mode and Hill Descent Control to offer more performance off the beaten track.
The 2016 Pajero Sport comes with many safety features such as Forward Collision Mitigation system (FCM), Blind Spot Warning system, Ultrasonic misacceleration Mitigation System (UMS) and seven airbags. An electric parking brake is seen for the first time while a “Multi-Around” camera system is optional.
