Hyundai stated that the Creta had registered 15,000 bookings on the day of launch, about 20 days after it officially opened the order book. It had stated then that over 25 percent of the bookings were for the petrol model, which is powered by the 1.6-liter Dual VTVT engine, coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission, and more than 15 percent of customers had booked the Creta automatic, which is available in a single SX+ trim, priced at INR 13.57 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.

In the first two months of the launch, Hyundai has dispatched about 15,000 cars to dealerships, whereas rivals Renault and Ford sold below 3,000 units per month each in the same time. Hyundai said last month that it was increasing Creta output from 5,000 units per month to 6,500 units to speed up deliveries.

The Financial Express report estimates the Creta's waiting period at around 2 months, but another recent report said that it would extend to up to 10 months for some variants. FE says Hyundai is adjusting the manufacturing mix to make more of the Creta at the Chennai plant, which is peaking at its capacity of 6.8 lakh vehicles per annum.
