Surpasses initial booking figure of Elite i20.
Hyundai announced today at the Creta's global launch that it had received over 15,000 bookings for the compact SUV in a short span of 20 days. The Creta has surpassed the excitement levels of the Elite i20, which raked in about 10,000 bookings within the initial 20 days.
Over 25 percent of the bookings are for the petrol model, which is powered by the 1.6-liter Dual VTVT engine, matched to a 6-speed manual transmission. More than 15 percent of buyers have opted for the Creta automatic, which is available in a single SX+ trim, priced at INR 13.57 lakhs, ex-Showroom, New Delhi.
The automatic, which uses a 6-speed torque converter, is paired to the 1.6-liter diesel engine with VGT, and has an ARAI-rated efficiency of 17.01 km/l. The 1.6-liter diesel is also paired to a 6-speed manual transmission and is offered in trims of SX, SX+ and SX (O), with prices ranging from INR 11.59-13.6 lakhs.
A third engine option, a 1.4-liter CRDi paired to a 6-speed manual transmission is also on offer. With prices ranging from INR 9.46 lakhs to INR 11.45 lakhs, this motor develops 90 PS and 220 Nm of torque, and has a fuel efficiency figure of 21.38 km/l.
