Tata Kite with production-ready exterior and interior caught testing – Spied
Aravind Jayachandran, I'm a huge petrolhead, an automobile engineer, a massive fan of Ferrari, and loves collecting die-cast models for inspiration.
Will pack a 1.05-liter diesel engine.
The Tata Kite hatchback has been spotted testing with production-ready exterior and interior, leaving nothing to the imagination.
It features a new design that falls in line with the company’s Tata Zest and Bolt, characteristic features being a honeycomb grille, bug-shaped headlight enclosures, large ORVMs, wraparound taillamps, larger windscreen and a subtle roof spoiler.
The Tata Kite comes with a modern interior that is a step up over the Tata Indica. The dashboard is finished in a dual tone black and beige plastic. It gets a new three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, sculpted instrument binnacle, a black plastic center console occupied by rectangular AC vents and a 2-DIN music system.
Under the hood, the petrol variant of the Tata Kite is expected to pack a three-cylinder 1.2-liter unit, while the diesel motor will be a three-cylinder, displacing 1.05-liters, reportedly. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an automated manual transmission (AMT). Certain reports have speculated that it will feature an e-clutch system, where the driver can slot into first gear without using the clutch.
The launch of the Tata Kite is expected to take place this calendar year, and could be priced from INR 3.5 Lakhs.
