Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) outlined its mid-term plan on Tuesday, stating that it aims to sell 3.4 million vehicles globally by 2020. Maruti-Suzuki, SMC’s largest operation, is expected to sell 2 million units/annum by 2020, contributing to 58 percent of overall volumes.

Currently, Maruti contributes to 43 percent of SMC’s volumes, and accounts for 30 percent of consolidated profits. The company will be launching 20 new models, including full model changes of existing vehicles and entering all-new segments in order to boost its overall volumes. Products like the Maruti S-Cross (expected to launch in the coming weeks), YRA premium hatchback (H2 2015), YBA sub-4 meter SUV (H1 2016) and YJC Wagon-R based MPV see Maruti exploring new segments.
