Expected to launch this financial year.
GaadiWaadi has posted these images of a production ready Maruti ‘Y9T’ LCV, complete with the relevant badging. Towards the front, the LCV gets the Suzuki logo, and a ‘Super Carry’ badge, hinting that Maruti will indeed use this name, while the rear sees the ‘Maruti Suzuki’ badge, and a ‘CNG’ sticker.
The Super Carry will also come in a diesel variant which will make use of the newly-developed 0.8-liter two-cylinder DDiS engine, which debuted on the Celerio. On the hatchback, this engine produces 47 bhp and 125 Nm of torque, and offers a class-leading fuel economy of 27.62 km/l. The CNG variant of the Super Carry is reported to feature a 1.2-liter engine though.
The first LCV for Maruti in India will be manufactured in Gurgaon, and would be retailed through a dedicated range of dealerships, according to reports. The Tata Ace will be the primary rival for the Super Carry.
The Super Carry will reportedly come with a 1 tonne payload capacity, though it remains to be seen if Maruti offers different deck lengths for varying consumer needs.
The Super Carry is expected to launch in the country this financial year.
