Will come with three engine options.
Ahead of its global launch on July 21, 2015, the Hyundai Creta has started making its way to dealerships across the country. Dealers have started accepting bookings for the compact SUV, though Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) told Indian Autos Blog that the company hadn't officially started, just as yet.
To recap, the Creta will come with three engine options - two diesel and one petrol. The diesel range includes the 1.4-liter CRDi and the 1.6-liter CRDi, while the petrol engine is the 1.6-liter Dual VTVT unit. All engines will offer a 6-speed manual transmission as standard. The Creta 1.6-liter diesel SX variant can also be had with a 6-speed automatic transmission however.
HMIL is yet to announce the fuel efficiency figures for the Creta, or even its detailed technical specifications. However, a leaked document reveals that the Creta will come in Base, S, S+, SX, SX+ and SX (O) variants.
The top-end SX (O) gets dual front airbags, side and curtain airbags, ABS, EBD, VSM, HAC, ESC, a supervision cluster, automatic AC, a 7-inch touchscreen AVN system with reverse camera, smart entry with an engine starter button and 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
