Ford UK found the EcoSport a hard sell, with fewer than 5,000 units retailed in 2014.
Ford UK has announced that it is taking orders for the "significantly enhanced" 2016 Ford EcoSport after sales petered out this year. The Fiesta-based crossover is now priced from £14,245 (INR 14.17 lakhs) and deliveries will commence in October.
The India-made vehicle comes without an exposed spare wheel, deeming this intervention a "rearlift". In place of the spare, Ford offers a tire mobility kit, but if requested, the exposed spare wheel can be had.
The revisited interior is adorned with a charcoal black lower instrument panel, centre console and door cards. The instrument cluster comes with a light dimming function and chrome-surround rings to coordinate with the power window switches.
Engineers have tweaked the car's suspension springs, dampers, torsion beam at the rear, Electronic Stability Programme, and Electronic Power Assisted Steering settings. The car retains the same engines (1.0L petrol, 1.5L diesel and 1.5L petrol), and the 1.5-liter TDCI diesel gets a 5 PS improvement in power, to offer 95 PS. The cabin quietness has increased apparently due to more sound-deadening materials on the doors and dashboard, and tighter seals below the pedals. The car rides 10 mm lower to improve handling.

Ford has also provided the optional Winter Pack that brings heated front seats, heated windscreen, heated mirror and rear ventilation into the car. Later this year, Ford will also offer a rear-view camera and a satellite navigation as optional accessories.
None of the changes specified here would be applicable to the Indian-spec EcoSport. You can get more info in the press release added below the gallery.
