HMIL has confirmed that the world debut of the Hyundai Creta will take place on July 21. Production of the compact SUV has begun at HMIL's sole production facility in Chennai. Ahead of its debut, several production-ready undisguised examples have been spotted outside the facility, giving us a good look at the changes that differentiate the Creta from its Chinese counterpart, the Hyundai ix25.
One of the spyshots reveal the interior of the Hyundai Creta SX diesel variant, which was first made public via the official sketches. In the top SX trim, noticeable features include a multifunction 3-spoke steering wheel, an instrument cluster similar to the Elite i20, a small infotainment display, CD slot, hands-free bluetooth connectivity, and two tone interior with fabric upholstery. Expect interior build quality to be as good as the Elite i20.
Talking of the exterior, the Creta SX variant adds projector headlights, foglights, alloy wheels, wing mirrors with integrated turn signals, and a rear wiper washer.

Power is sourced from a choice between a 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter CRDi motors that constitute the diesel lineup, while a 1.6-liter VTVT engine could serve as the sole petrol option. Transmission options include manual (6-speed) and automatic gearboxes, which drive the front wheels. It's unclear if HMIL will offer an AWD system for the Creta in any of the variants.
