Changes include large winged grille, interior updates.
The Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 is undergoing a facelift for 2016, and Japan's Powerful Car Magazine has rendered the SUV based on the changes depicted in the images leaked several days ago.
The rendered Toyota LC features the large ‘wing-shape’ grille and an updated lower fascia with new foglamp enclosures. Toyota could offer the LC with optional LED headlamps, while all variants will feature LED DRL strips.
While the side remains untouched, the rear could get updates similar to the front end, such as LED taillamps and a new bumper. The leaked document had also depicted a limited edition model, which features deeper bumpers for a dynamic stance.
Inside, the 2016 Land Cruiser will get newly designed center console featuring a large entertainment screen and buttons that are better recessed on the console. Also in tow is a new white-on-black instrument cluster and more interior color and material trim for better customization.
Under the hood, Toyota will reportedly offer, for some markets, the 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel unit from the new ‘GD’ engine family, as well as retain the current engine lineup, which includes a 271 hp 4.0L V6 petrol with dual VVT-i, a 304 hp 4.6-liter V8 petrol with VVT-i, and a 232 hp 4.5 L turbo diesel V8.
For the Indian market, Toyota sells the Land Cruiser with the V8 diesel engine paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It offers a 4WD system as standard with CRAWL, a feature which operates like an off-road cruise control. The vehicle is a CBU.
