Based on the new Triton which was introduced in Thailand in November 2014.
Seen here are the leaked patent drawings of the next generation 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, which according to reports will be revealed later in the year in Thai market. Road tests of the third generation Pajero Sport (also called the Montero Sport, Nativa, Challenger and Pajero Dakar in international markets) have already started as well.
These patent drawings show the new Pajero Sport to get a design inspired by the GR-HEV concept, and the facelifted Outlander which was revealed earlier in the year at the New York Auto Show. The "Dynamic Shield" X-shaped grille, which seamlessly connects the headlights and taillights, especially appears derived from the new Outlander.
Based on the new Triton pickup which was introduced in Thailand in November 2014, the 2015 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport is also expected to get the new 2.4-liter MIVEC turbo-diesel engine which develops 181 PS and 430 Nm of torque on the Triton, and is paired to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
