Gets a host of cosmetic and mechanical improvements.
A Japanese website has published the brochure of the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander (facelift), which was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show last month.
The new Outlander features Mitsubishi's new design language with the "Dynamic Shield" X-shaped front bumper. Designers have updated the front fascia of the SUV to make it look more like the expensive Montero. The rear of the 2016 Outlander gets larger taillight enclosures with LED elements, and a new bumper.
Changes on the Outlander facelift are not merely cosmetic as engineers have also altered the chassis. Structural rigidity of the body and suspension have increased, while the NVH levels have been improved thanks to a noise-isolating windshield, improved weather stripping and engine compartment trim and more sound insulating materials throughout the cabin.
Additionally, changes have also been carried out to the electric power steering and CVT gearbox to improve handling and acceleration respectively, Mitsubishi said in its press release.
