Update - Middle Eastern Facebook page Baniya Cars has leaked the 2016 Lexus LX ahead of its reported launch in August. The car will probably debut alongside its donor, the updated 2016 Toyota Land Cruiser.
The first interior image of the car reveals it getting a large dashboard display, Remote Touch controller, slimmer air con vents, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and an analog clock which is a signature touch in modern Lexus vehicles.
Will launch in the next few months.
Based on renders and presumed leaks, IAB's rendering artist Shoeb Kalania has presented the 2016 Lexus LX. Launched in 2007, this would be the third update to the Toyota Land Cruiser-based SUV after interventions in 2010 and 2012.
While there is no official information, the LX is reported to undergo a complete transformation akin to the LS, which had over 3,000 changes when it underwent its mid-cycle refresh in 2012. Media outlets around the world are yet calling this a facelift as the chassis is the same.
The car will have a re-designed front end, new features, and come with a revamped interior. As observed in the render, the spindle grille is made more angular and striking with extra chrome, while the lower fascia comes with vertically stacked fog lamps. The headlamps, sporting LED DRLs flow into the grille, and the taillamps (not seen here) will get the full LED treatment.
Changes will be considerable in the interior with an all-new center console hosting a larger infotainment screen and a new instrument cluster. Head-up display could be part of the updated feature kit.
The current Lexus LX570 is powered by a 5.7-liter V8 petrol engine that makes 362 hp at 5,600 rpm and 530 Nm @ 3,200 rpm. This is unlikely to change, but an eight-speed transmission could come in place of the six-speed, and 4WD will be standard.
