Expected to be unveiled in June.
AutoBlog has published the first spyshot of the interior of the next generation 2016 Toyota Hilux (2016 Toyota Fortuner-based pickup), which is anticipated for a reveal in June.
A 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel rests behind a Corolla-inspired, two-pod instrument binnacle. The center console features a protruding touchscreen infotainment system, which would be marketed as a 'floating center console', below which controls for the HVAC are positioned. No doubt, on higher models, Toyota will offer an automatic climate control system.
The 2016 Hilux in these images is the dual-cab version fitted with features like HID projector headlights, LED daytime running lights and alloy wheels. When launched in Asian markets in the second half of this year, the new Hilux will be powered by a new range of diesel engines.
Toyota would replace the 2.5- and 3.0-liter diesel engines with new 2.4- and 2.8-liter units which will come with enhanced fuel efficiency. Paired to 5- and 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions, these engines will also come with adjustable driving modes for increased power output or increased efficiency.
