Maruti introduced its SmartPlay system on the Ciaz Z+ variant recently. The SmartPlay is an integrated touchscreen infotainment system which has a range of features, and Maruti plans on offering this system on its forthcoming models and product refreshes.
The Ertiga facelift, which is expected to launch in the coming months, will be equipped with this 7-inch touchscreen display, reports Autocar India. Apart from supporting USB, Aux and Bluetooth, Maruti's SmartPlay also gets integrated navigation with voice commands, voice recognition, display for the rear view camera, and can stream apps from a compatible smartphone.
In a bid to increase the technology quotient of its cars, the company is planning to launch the SmartPlay system on new models like the SX4 S-Cross, the premium hatchback codenamed YRA and the mini SUV codenamed YBA.

Offering a high-end infotainment system in the mass-market started with Tata Motors inking a deal with Harman for supplying touchscreen and non-touchscreen units for cars like the Bolt and Zest. Recently, Honda has started offering a 15.7 cm touchscreen AVN (Audi Visual Navigation) system across its range including the Brio, Amaze, Mobilio, CR-V, and very recently, the City.
