Mild cosmetic revisions for Maruti's popular MPV.
Seen here are the first images of the rear end of the Maruti Ertiga facelift. Maruti's popular MPV is reported to get a facelift by the first half of this year, with subtle changes to its exterior and interior.
Compared to the current model, the Ertiga facelift in these images gets a a chrome-applique for its registration plate enclosure. Upon closer inspection, the 'Ertiga' branding appears etched on this applique, and hence there is no separate badge on the bootlid.
Speaking of badges, the car spotted here shows a 'ZDi+' badge, indicating that Maruti could rename variants of the Ertiga in tune with the Ciaz. The rear bumper of the car gets a redesign as well, and loses the foglight seen on the current model.
The Ertiga is powered by a 1.4-liter petrol and a 1.3-liter diesel engine. While these engines will continue unchanged, they could return better fuel efficiency, like in the case of the refreshed Swift. Also, reports indicate that the Ertiga facelift will get the automated manual transmission (AMT), currently seen on the new Alto K10 and Celerio.
