Until now, the AMT was available only on the XMA trim, which is priced at INR 6.99 lakhs. The XTA retails at INR 8.07 lakhs, and for reference, the XT with a manual transmission comes at INR 6.99 lakhs (all prices are ex-Showroom, New Delhi).

Here are the features seen on the XTA that are unavailable on the XMA: Harman ConnectNext touchscreen infotainment system (the XMA gets a non-touchscreen unit), SD Card reader, reverse camera and rear parking sensors, voice commands, Smartphone-enabled navigation, height adjustable driver’s seat, rear defogger, automatic climate control, alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and LED guide light on the headlight, and most importantly, dual front airbags and an alarm system.

Actually AMT cannot be compared with Skoda’s /VW’s world class DSG Automatic. AMT will not be good for Highways while overtaking. You may have to change to sports mode while overtaking. Then there will be a lag. Please read the IAB mail about Toyota NOT bringing AMT in its cars.

How come the difference between XT and XTA is 1.1 lakhs?? Too much for an AMT.. That will even affect the road tax and insurance costs.. Tata going the wrong way..

I dont think so only rs 70K extra
the Touch screen Harman system with all features +8 speakers alone will be Rs50K and this particular unit is made exclusively made for Tata Motors not available as a aftermarket even at Tata Showrooms.
