Comeback car for Tata Motors taking its time to make inroads.

According to a report from Financial Express, the Tata Zest hasn’t managed to capture the Indian buyer’s imagination, since its market launch in August 2014.

In October and November, the Zest managed to outsell the Honda Amaze.

In the sub-4m sedan segment, the total number of Zests sold since the launch is a bit more than the sales numbers that Maruti’s Swift Dzire brings in a month. Even the Grand i10-based Xcent sedan managed overtake the Zest. However, in October and November, the Zest did manage to outsell the Honda Amaze, though the latter did manage to bounce back in December and January 2015.

If there’s another thing that Tata Motors can be happy about, it is the fact that the Zest managed to increase passenger vehicle sales for the company to 13,047 units (19% increase from January 2014), and more than 20,000 Zests have been dispatched.

Analysts believe that though the numbers for the Zest are comparatively low for its segment, it’s still good for a product that has only been in the market for 6 months. It is the first of Tata’s new lineup of products that places a new sense of confidence on the brand; paving the way for upcoming cars, such as the Kite hatchback/sedan, and the Nexon mini SUV.

I own TATA Zest XMS PETROL SINCE DEC 2014 I AM DRIVING THIS ZEST ITS THE BEST CAR AVAILABLE IT ITS SEGMENT , THIS CAR IS NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO THINK IT WILL GIVE YOU AVERAGE 20 KM/LIT . THE COMFORT , EASILY DRIVEABLE , SAFETY FEATURES ARE THE SECOND TO NONE IN THE SEGMENT. EARLIER HAD HYUNDAI CAR 2 TIMES IT FAILED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY ,I WAS TOTALLY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE HYUNDAI AFTER SALES ITS THE MOST EXPENSIVE MAINTENANCE , BE INDIAN BUY INDIAN

Hi all Let me be frank in the last 2 Years the After Sales Service of TATAs have taken a leap.

With Horizon next program the Service outlets have been refurbished .

I get instant wonderful service for small problems without any hassle .

For the scheduled services i get umpteen followup calls informing me of the service due , which a great step in keeping the customers happy.

Original Genuine Spares are available at the service points, also economical.

Tatas have separate Authorised spares dealers who do not charge exhorbitant rates.

With HYundai spares are not available except at service points and costs a lot .

Infact one has to wait between 4 days to weeks.

same with other manufacturers except Maruti,

Iam sure in a couple of years TATAs will rule the Indian Roads

Once the Giant wake up all will be batted like flies.

Tatas are Truly Indian Blodded car manufacturers

We Indians should support TATA motors

Wish Bolt and all new products from Tata great successes ,

Problem could be they don’t have enough cars to ship or sell. This is a major issue for them due to the poor planning, and subsequent lack of parts from their vendors. Of course the after sales and service sucks, as
they assume that anyone coming through their door is an uneducated lorry driver.

Tata manufacturers should take note, they’ve produced an excellent car but whenever a prospective customer decides to go for it, everyone else around him discourage him, this is the aftermath of poor A.S.S and subsequent low resale, I would happily by the car but the fear of dealing with tata after sale is the biggest nightmare

Only reason I see is the Service and Customer satisfaction from the dealer are bad. I have seen and heard from my own people that dealer have stoppped caring for the potential buyers. A month ago my brother had requested a Test drive for Zest. The dealer called after a week and said they would send the test drive car.. never to bother again. Also I see the service stations worst maintained. Not organized.

I did not expect much success to Zest because of following reasons
    1) Still looking like Vista is some parts/angles
    2) People still have negative image about tata cars in terms of durability, service competency

    Positives
    1) Looks/feels better but still not in the league of Suzuki/Hyundai.
    2) Features
    3) Price – the car looks bigger 1 segment above than competitors

Let us see how they are coming with brand new platform – kite.

Its for sophisticated customers and not for persons having. “Kitne dete hai” mindset
Zest is way ahead of Dzire and xcent

Tata cars are safe cars and have backing safety system built inthem
They are not TIN CANS Like maruti or hyundai.
I have xenon xt 4×4 and indigo ecs
      No problems so far
Dynamics of zest is far superior and has 9th gen abs
more spacious than xcent or dezirr

Starting with Tata Estste, indica v2 ,presently indico ecs and Xenon XT has been awesome
By2020 tata will rule the Indian Roads
