Minor cosmetic updates in store for VW's Corolla-rival.
Dealers of VW India have started accepting bookings for the VW Jetta facelift which will launch on February 17, 2015. The booking amount is INR 1 lakh. VW India's communications department could not be reached immediately for a comment.
Unveiled at the New York Auto Show in 2014, VW's designers have given minor cosmetic changes to the executive sedan. A new triple-slat grille, front bumper with redesigned foglight enclosures, a new alloy wheel pattern and redesigned taillights will make up the exterior changes.
Inside, the Jetta would get the new 3-spoke flat-bottomed steering wheel (seen on the new Polo and Vento), along with an upgraded infotainment system and possibly new shades for the dashboard trim.
Mechanically, the car is expected to continue unchanged. VW India offers two engine options on the Jetta, a petrol and a diesel. The petrol motor is a 1.4-liter TSI developing 120 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The diesel Jetta meanwhile is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI engine producing 138 bhp and 320 Nm of torque, available with a 6-speed manual and DSG transmission.

The Jetta is assembled in India through CKD kits, and averages monthly sales of 165 units. The Jetta's segment however has seen consistent degrowth in India owing to increased customer preference for an SUV bodystyle at that price point.
