"Nothing like it" says the company.
The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta (facelift) will be launched in India on February 17, the company announced today. The car world debuted at the 2014 New York Auto Show with a few cosmetic changes and a new 2-litre EA288 TDI diesel engine.
The cosmetic changes include slightly tweaked front end styling with a redesigned radiator grille with three fins, rectangular fog lamps, and a new bumper. The rear receives LED taillamps, and an updated bumper, too. All these changes, along with the new 10-spoke alloy wheels, were seen on the test mule spotted in India.
On the inside, a new 3-spoke steering wheel, like the one used on the Polo and the Vento, a touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, and subtle changes to trim and upholstery are expected.
Engine options are expected to remain unchanged with the current 1.4-litre TSI petrol (120 hp and 200 Nm) and 2-litre TDI diesel (138 hp and 320 Nm) staying, although there could be changes to the final outputs. Gearbox choices at present include 6-speed manual and dual-clutch automatic (DSG) transmissions, which are unlikely to see changes.
