The Bolt which will be showcased will not be a mere bodykit strapped on the hatchback.

The first car to come out of this performance brand would be the recently launched Tata Bolt. The publication states that the Geneva Motor Show next week will see the debut of a sporty version of the Bolt. Unlike the Bolt display cars shown at the Auto Expo or even select dealerships, the Geneva show car will not be a Bolt with a bodykit strapped on.

Instead, the Bolt’s 1.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine will produce about 120 bhp, and will come paired to Fiat’s C501 gearbox. The Bolt petrol currently makes 89 bhp from its 1.2-liter engine.

Now thats a move by Tata. This will perfectly fit in the slowly growing performance hatch market and will also make Tata a serious player particularly for driving enthusiasts. Having a performance division alongside will only help in strengthening the image.

Can they call it Tataste-TS “Tata on steroids”? This by itself is oxymoronic!
