120 bhp from the 1.2L Revotron engine.
According to a report on Autocar India, Tata Motors is planning to launch a performance brand in the country by the end of this year. An announcement with this regard, with the name of the performance brand, would be made in the second half of this year.
The first car to come out of this performance brand would be the recently launched Tata Bolt. The publication states that the Geneva Motor Show next week will see the debut of a sporty version of the Bolt. Unlike the Bolt display cars shown at the Auto Expo or even select dealerships, the Geneva show car will not be a Bolt with a bodykit strapped on.
Instead, the Bolt's 1.2-liter four-cylinder turbocharged Revotron petrol engine will produce about 120 bhp, and will come paired to Fiat's C501 gearbox. The Bolt petrol currently makes 89 bhp from its 1.2-liter engine.
Modifications to the suspension (stiffer damping, lower ride height) will also be seen, as will a flared bodywork with 17-inch wheels.
