Like the European Swift, the concept features a 4WD system.

Update - IAB's digital artist Shoeb Kalania has worked on the teaser to add colours and contours to the iM-4. The concept could be the forerunner to either the Swift-based sub-4m SUV codenamed 'YBA' or a new crossover that European media say would be the Celerio's sister car.

The second concept Suzuki is debuting at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show is the iM-4 SUV concept. The concept is an "iconic mini 4x4" developed with a theme of "Shape the Inspiration". The iM-4 packs in a 4x4 system, and will give inspiration to drivers, Suzuki says in its statement. Further details will be revealed on March 3, 2015.

The compact iM-4 could be a precursor to the 'YBA', expected to launch in India next year.

Judging by the looks of it, the iM-4 concept seems to have a sub-4 meter length, which in turn could mean that this concept previews the long awaited EcoSport slayer from (Maruti) Suzuki. Codenamed 'YBA', the compact SUV, based on the underpinning of the Swift, has started testing in India and a launch is expected early next year.

The mini SUV is anticipated with a new 1.5-liter diesel engine and a 1.2-liter K-Series or a new 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine.

In Suzuki's portfolio, the production version of the iM-4 would slot below the SX4 S-Cross, yet above the Swift hatchback. And while a 4WD system is present on the concept, it remains to be seen if this realizes into the production version, especially for the Indian market.
