Though Hero Motocorp showcased scooters like the Dare and Dash at the 2014 edition of the Auto Expo, Economic Times reports that the brand plans to launch a yet-to-be shown 110 cc scooter that will rival the Honda Activa. A launch is expected in the second quarter of this calendar year.

Honda Activa 3G front three quarters left at the launch
The new Hero scooter will be squarely aimed at the Activa, which recently underwent mild model year changes.

The new scooter will launch a brand new platform for the company. Its design will have a unisex appeal, and it will come with an all-metal body which is currently missing on products like the Hero Maestro and Pleasure.

The 110 cc engine would also be a newly-developed unit, unlike the Maestro’s which is borrowed from Honda (the Maestro and Activa use the same engine).

Designed and Made in India to international standards by an Indian company; something to
brag about! If you want to follow Apple then you can say “designed in Rajasthan”and “made in India”.

  3. Dash could have also been a competition to Honda Activa but it seems Hero has decided not to leave any stone unturned. Working on a scooter which has all metal body is a step towards fulfilling the commitment of Hero MotoCorp management. So, we are going to get Dash, Dare, Zir and now an anonymous 110cc scooter from Hero MotoCorp.
