To feature an all-metal body.
Though Hero Motocorp showcased scooters like the Dare and Dash at the 2014 edition of the Auto Expo, Economic Times reports that the brand plans to launch a yet-to-be shown 110 cc scooter that will rival the Honda Activa. A launch is expected in the second quarter of this calendar year.
The new scooter will launch a brand new platform for the company. Its design will have a unisex appeal, and it will come with an all-metal body which is currently missing on products like the Hero Maestro and Pleasure.
The 110 cc engine would also be a newly-developed unit, unlike the Maestro’s which is borrowed from Honda (the Maestro and Activa use the same engine).
According to the report, Hero plans on expediting the launch of its scooters as the scooter segment in India is witnessing a growth of 21 percent this fiscal year. A source told the publication that the scooter will be loaded with features, and is designed to be used by every member in a typical Indian family.
Competitors: Honda Activa, TVS Jupiter, Suzuki Let’s, Mahindra’s Gusto
