Offered with a 1.2L petrol and 1.3L diesel engine.
Tata Motors has announced the start of online bookings for the Bolt hatchback. Based on the Indica Vista's platform, the Bolt is Tata's highly awaited hatchback and will sell alongside the recently launched Zest compact sedan (both based on the same platform).
On the outside, the Bolt continues with the familiar silhouette of the Vista but features a fresh design overall. The design is bolder, which makes the Bolt smarter looking than any other Tata product in the segment. Interior space has always been a Tata plus point, and the Bolt is no exception here. What is an exception is the quality of the cabin, which certainly is a few notches above what Tata has offered.
In terms of mechanicals, the vehicle will use the new 1.2-litre turbocharged 'Revotron' petrol engine that makes 90 PS and 140 Nm of torque. The diesel engine is the 1.3-liter Fiat MultiJet unit which makes 75 PS and 190 Nm of torque. The former (turbo petrol), comes with three drive modes: Sport, City, and Eco, that vary the throttle response.
In terms of safety, Tata says a Corner Stability Control (CSC), ABS, and dual airbags will be made available with the Bolt. Variants and pricing will be revealed closer to the launch, however the pre-booking amount is INR 11,000.
