Online bookings can be made for Rs 11,000.
Tata Motors recently announced the commencement of bookings for its upcoming hatchback, the Bolt. Now, according to Autocar India, the car is slated for a launch on January 20, 2015. While it was clear that the car will be launched in early 2015, but the exact date should certainly give confidence to all those who are yet to zero in on the Bolt to firm up their decision.
Based on a modified version of the Vista platform, the Bolt is Tata's second new product under its HorizonNext strategy. While there have been revised versions of old products in the past, the company is relying on the new products (like the Bolt hatchback and the Zest compact sedan) for its revival in the Indian market.
On the outside the design language is familiar but in no way old, while interior is a major improvement over previous models. So much so that Tata Motors can now break away from the 'less than desirable' quality image that was often associated with the brand. The mechanicals are improved as well, and there's a new turbocharged petrol engine (1.2-litre 'Revotron) being offered, which makes 89 hp of maximum power and 140 Nm of maximum torque.

Tata has been known to price its products competitively and the Bolt won't be an exception. Its larger sibling, the Zest, has been doing very well in the market beating the established Honda Amaze for two months in a row.
