A new set of spy shots has been published by Shifting-Gears, showing the camouflaged 2016 Audi Q7 being driven on the streets of Mumbai.
The second generation Q7 which world premiered at the NAIAS 2015 earlier this month, might have carried over the silhouette of its predecessor, but a lot has changed underneath. It's based on the new MLB architecture, is up to 325 kg lighter than the previous version, and has a slew of added features.
The new Q7 measures 5.05 meters in length, 1.97 meters in width, and 1.74 meters in height, and the wheelbase is 2.99 meters long. The engine range has seen some changes as well, with the addition of a 2-litre TFSI petrol unit (249 hp and 370 Nm) to the range.
The new Q7 will be offered with the 3-litre petrol and diesel engines in India. Both turbocharged V6 units, but while the petrol offers 333 hp and 440 Nm, the diesel churns 272 hp and 600 Nm. In terms of efficiency, the diesel engine is said to be 26 percent more efficient than the outgoing version while the petrol is 23 percent better. The quattro all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed gearbox come standard with the car.

On the inside the vehicle gets a new MMI infotainment system, complete with touchpad and tablet PCs for the second row users. The said infotainment system accepts both Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and the car also gets the virtual cockpit which was first available on the Audi TT, and the Matrix LED headlamps.
