The new Audi Q7, which has its public revealing set for the Detroit Motor Show in a couple of weeks, comes with Audi's new digital instrument cluster and a new generation MMI (Multimedia infotainment) system.

First seen on the new Audi TT, the entire instrument cluster of the car is in fact a 12.3-inch TFT display. Thanks to it, the driver no longer needs to glance the central screen for GPS navigation or even infotainment settings, instead the information is right in front.
Inputting GPS coordinates or searching for contacts/music on the MMI can now be done using a touch interface. By keying in the alphabet or number, the user can easily access or narrow down the search.
Apart from the new tech-loaded interior, the second generation Q7 is lighter by 325 kg, and is announced to be powered by 3.0-liter V6 petrol and diesel engines, while a plug-in hybrid is will join the lineup later on.

In India, the new generation Q7, TT and the new VW Passat (which also gets a digital instrument cluster similar to the Audis) are expected to launch this year (by early-2016 in case of the Q7). The new Q7 has already started testing in India however.
