A base 2.0-liter TFSI has been recently announced for the new Q7.
The 2016 Audi Q7 is shown to the public for the first time at the 2015 NAIAS (2015 Detroit Auto Show). The second generation of Audi's flagship SUV is expected to launch in India by the end of this year.
The new Q7 measures an impressive 5.05 meters in length, 1.97 meters in width, 1.74 meters in height and 2.99 meters in wheelbase. It is based on the MLB Evo platform and is hence 325 kg lighter than the outgoing model.
Audi says that the weight saving has made the new Q7 26 percent more efficient. The petrol variant, which is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI producing 333 hp and 440 Nm, consumes 28 percent less fuel. The 3.0-liter V6 diesel on the other hand, capable of 272 hp and 600 Nm of torque, is 23 percent more efficient.
Audi has also announced a base 2.0-liter TFSI capable of 252 hp and 370 Nm of torque. All engines are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission sending drive to all wheels.
The new Q7 is packed with features such as Audi's Matrix LED lighting system, a virtual cockpit, a new MMI system with touchpad, a 3D surround sound system, tablets for rear seat passengers, Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay to list a few.
