Next generation of the people carried to be revealed next year.
Here are more spyshots of the next generation 2016 Toyota Innova while it was testing at the Mysore Ring Road in Karnataka, where TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motor) has its manufacturing facilities. As reported earlier, the second generation Innova will be revealed next year possibly at one of the Asian motor shows, while an Indian launch is slated to occur sometime in early 2016.
Based on a new ladder-frame chassis, the 2016 Innova, based on spyshots, indicates that it has grown in length, while the overall width and height seem similar to the current generation model. The increased length is apparent post the rear window, a sign that the third row seat could benefit from more legroom.
In terms of design, the new Innova's overall shape doesn't break tradition from today's model. However, parts like the headlights and taillights (which are now horizontally positioned) adhere to Toyota's global design language, which is seen on the new Corolla Altis in India.
Sources say that the new Innova will be powered by a new diesel engine, and that an automatic transmission will also be offered on the car.
