Likely being used by a rival manufacturer for benchmark purposes.
The Toyota Rush compact SUV was spotted in India once again, this time by Indian Autos Blog reader, Mr. Anup Vengurlekar. Just like the previous instance, the test mule was spotted in Kolhapur.
As mentioned yesterday, this generation of the Rush (the second generation) is unlikely to be offered in India by TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motor), instead the manufacturer might consider introducing the next generation model, or another compact SUV developed with the Indian market in mind.
The Rush is currently available in markets like Indonesia where it is sold with a 1.5-liter petrol engine producing 107.5 bhp and 141.2 Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic gearbox can be had with the car.
The Rush has its dimensions at 4,420 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width, 1,740 mm in height and 2,685 mm in wheelbase, putting it as a direct rival to the Renault Duster.
The Rush also offers a generous ground clearance of 200 mm. Interestingly, the Rush can be had with an optional third row seat as a dealer-level addition, making it a 5+2 seater.

Until the arrival of the next generation Rush, or another compact SUV, Toyota's only offering in the crossover/compact SUV space will be the Etios Cross.
