Feature additions aside, the highlight of the updated Swift is the 10 percent increase in fuel economy. The petrol variants deliver 20.4 km/l (up from 18.6 km/l) thanks to engine retuning. The 1.2-liter K-Series motor now produces 84.3 PS (83.11 bhp) at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm (the older model made 87 PS/85.77 bhp at 6,200 rpm and 114 Nm at 4,000 rpm).
The diesel Swift claims 25.2 km/l (up from 22.9 km/l), thanks to an advanced thermal management system along with a low friction engine oil and a modified fuel injection system. It sees no change in power or torque outputs, making the same 75 PS (73.94 bhp) and 190 Nm of torque.

The top-end Z variants of the Swift benefit from reverse parking sensors, electrically adjustable and folding wing mirrors, keyless entry with push-button start, a Bluetooth-enabled music system with steering mounted controls for accepting/ending phone calls, and new 12-spoke alloy wheels.
For the mid-level V variant, Maruti has included an integrated stereo (without Bluetooth), the folding wing mirrors, new wheel caps, and ABS (only on the VDi trim).
