Will launch in October.
The production-spec Ford Ka+ sedan which made its online debut in the form of a single official image has been showcased for the first time in Brazil. Auto Esporte reports that the new global B segment sedan would be launched in the nation in October, possibly at the Sao Paulo Motor Show.
The sedan was previewed earlier this year by a concept car which was a longer version of the sub-4 metre Ford Figo Sedan concept that world premiered just before the 2014 Auto Expo.
Save for a mildly different front bumper, the Ka+ looks exactly like the Ka hatchback almost till the C-pillar, post which the third box is added. The duo features similar greenhouse and doors and even the taillight shapes are very close.
The models also share their interior which is equipped with the Ford SYNC multimedia infotainment system with AppLink system. The dashboard design and layout draws a leaf from the Fiesta's book.
The Ka+ is powered by a 1.5-litre flex-fuel motor which is borrowed from the Fiesta. To be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the motor puts out 111 PS (109.4 bhp). Ford could also offer an automatic transmission to enhance the car's appeal.
The Ka and Ka+ will enter India as the next gen Ford Figo and Classic (sub-4 metre) respectively. Production is expected to start on April 1 2015 at the automaker's new Sanand plant which is nearing completion.
