The Ford Ka+ is slightly longer than the India-bound sedan which will measure under 4 metre.

The Ka hatchback has just been launched in the Latin American nation while the Ka+ sedan would be launched later this year, probably at the Sao Paulo Auto Show in October.

The Ka+ inherits the hatchback’s design till the B-Pillar post which it gets a steeply raked thickish C-pillar that blends into a stubby boot. The Brazilian compact sedan is slightly longer than the sub-4 metre India-bound model, and thereby offers more boot volume.

The Ka hatchback would get the Ka+ sedan’s 1.5-litre engine at a later stage.

The interior is a copy+paste of the Ka hatchback and is equipped with the Ford SYNC multimedia infotainment system with AppLink system.

The Ka+ is powered by a 1.5-litre flex fuel engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The motor, which would also be introduced in the Ka at a later stage, has a power output of 111 PS (109 bhp). An automatic transmission could also be on the cards.

The Ka and Ka+ will be launched in India as the next gen Figo twins with production expected to commence at Ford India’s upcoming Sanand plant on 1st of April 2015.
