Mahindra 2 Wheeler is preparing to launch as many as 4 new products before the end of this year, says a PTI report. The company has also denied the recent report that the Pantero commuter has been discontinued.
Mr. Viren Popli, chief of operations, Mahindra 2 Wheelers, says that the company has been stabilizing itself and putting its infrastructure in place for the last one year. The brand now has 1,500 outlets across the country against just 600 last year. The company is testing the long awaited Mahindra Mojo 300 cc flagship motorcycle and a new 110cc automatic scooter codenamed G101, both of which would launch in a few months. Regarding more products, Mr. Popli hinted that there could be variants of existing products and the company is also looking to introduce another product in the 100 - 110 cc commuter category. It is to be noted that Mahindra had earlier announced a disc brake variant of the Centuro commuter to join the lineup.
In addition, Mahindra 2 Wheelers is planning to increase its export market count from 11 to 15 by the end of this year. Nigeria, Colombia and markets adjacent to these two would be explored. In the domestic market, the two wheeler maker posted 83% growth in June 2014 compared to June 2013. Mahindra 2 Wheelers are hopeful of rapid growth in the coming months, fueled by new products in the pipeline.
