Mahindra 2 Wheelers have tasted reasonable success with the Mahindra Centuro. In January this year, the company announced that it had sold over 100,000 units of the motorcycle, which at that time was six months old.
In a bid to increase the Centuro's reach, two new variants - a base and top-end - were planned for the motorcycle. While the base variant was launched in January this year, the top-end variant was spotted on test recently, indicating a nearing launch.
The top-end variant, expected to be called Mahindra Centuro O1-D, will sport all the features of the O1 variant while adding a front disc brake. The spyshot reveals that the disc brake will be that of the petal-shape type. Other specifications of the bike will remain unchanged.
The Centuro is powered by a single-cylinder, air-cooled, 106.7 cc engine which produces 8.5 PS at 7,500 rpm and 8.5 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. A 4-speed gearbox is seen on the motorcycle. The bike delivers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 85.4 km/l.

The current Centuro models come with 130 mm drum brakes at the front and rear. Apart from that, the O1 Centuro gets features such as anti-theft alarm, engine immobilizer, follow-me-home lights, distance-to-empty readout and a partly digitized instrument cluster. The O1-D will inherit all these features.
