The Tata Nano facelift was caught testing in Bikaner, Rajasthan, by Gear Onn recently. The Nano facelift was shown at the Auto Expo this year in the form of the Nano Twist F-Tronic and Nano Twist Active concepts.
At the front, the Nano facelift gets a new bumper with a redesigned grille made to resemble a smiley. The headlights get a tint, similar to that of the refreshed Aria. At the rear, the refreshed Nano sports newly designed air vents on its bumper. The Twist Active variant would feature an openable rear hatch to enable better access to the boot.
Tata could spruce up interiors by offering a new 3-spoke steering wheel, faux-wood trims for the center console and gear tunnel and light beige plastics for the dashboard and door trims.
Mechanically, the Nano is expected to continue with its two-cylinder 624 cc engine producing 38 PS and 51 Nm of torque. The Twist F-Tronic would pair this engine to a Magenti Marelli-made 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).
A recent report indicates that the Sanand plant which makes the Nano has temporarily stopped production to tool-up to make the refreshed Nano, and new Nano variants.
