Replying to Indian Autos Blog's email query, Mr. Atul Gupta, Executive Vice President, marketing & sales, Suzuki Motorcycles India Ltd., revealed that the Suzuki Let's scooter has clocked over 15,000 bookings ever since the order book was opened in April, in some cities.
The unisex scooter, smallest in Suzuki India's lineup, was first launched in Tamil Nadu in May at INR 46,925 (ex-showroom Chennai). The Let's is powered by a 112.8 cc air cooled engine mated to a CVT automatic gearbox. The motor which incorporates Suzuki Eco Technology (SET) produces 8.7 hp and 9 Nm of torque and returns a claimed fuel economy of 63 km/l.
Suzuki was in the process of launching the Let's across the country in a phased manner and Mr. Gupta stated that the scooter is available pan-India since June 16.

Suzuki has recently launched the made-in-India Let's in Nepal at INR 99,046, having dispatched an initial lot of 500 units to the mountain nation. Mr. Gupta declined to comment when asked about other possible export markets for the scooter.
Positioned below the Swish 125 and the Access 125 scooters, the Let's competes with the likes of Honda Activa, Yamaha Ray, Hero Maestro and TVS Jupiter. As a volume spinner, the Let's has its work cut out as Suzuki has set its target at 5 lakh units (up from 3.7 lakh units last fiscal year) sales in the current fiscal.
