Honda Cars India will launch the Mobilio in late July, Indian Autos Blog can reveal today.
Unveiled at the Auto Expo this year, the Mobilio is Honda's answer to the Maruti Ertiga, and to the MPV segment in India which sees volumes of about 10,000-12,000 units per month.
Based on the Brio platform, the Mobilio will launch in India next month with a petrol and diesel engine. The petrol motor would be the 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-VTEC from the new City which is capable of 119 PS and 145 Nm of torque. The diesel Mobilio will get the 1.5-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC producing 100 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Transmission choices would include a manual and automatic for the petrol variant, and a manual only for the diesel variant.
In the build-up to the launch of the car, Honda have started showcasing the Mobilio at various malls across India. The car was shown in Ghaziabad last weekend, and will be displayed at other important cities over the course of this month and the next.
Apart from the Mobilio, Honda have confirmed the launch of the new Jazz this financial year. The hatchback was shown alongside the Mobilio at the Auto Expo this year.
