A report on ZigWheels states dealer sources for the information, adding that the third variant would be slotted between the two models mentioned above, at a price of around Rs 3.5 lakh. Datsun had earlier started taking bookings for the hatchback at Rs 11,000. For all variants, the car will have one ex-showroom price across the country.

Datsun Go start of production in Oragadam, Chennai
The Go was rolled out of the manufacturing facility in Chennai on the first week of February and is expected to hit the showrooms this weekend.

It is known that the Go already gets very few features to boast of. However, it has a wheelbase of 2,450 mm, making it as spacious as a Nissan Micra Active. At a length of 3,785 mm, the Go is 5 mm longer than the Micra Active.

The hatchback was rolled out of the Renault-Nissan alliance plant in Oragadam near Chennai on the 4th of February and the report says that these cars should be arriving at dealerships by this weekend. Datsun will export the car starting from the end of this year.

Accessorized Datsun Go at Auto Expo 2014 rear three quarters
The accessorized Go at the Auto Expo saw the car receive alloy wheels, rear roof spoiler, body decals among other additions.

At the Auto Expo 2014, Datsun showcased a few accessories on the Go, like alloy wheels, rear roof spoiler, body decals, reverse camera and an exhaust tip finished off in chrome. We expect the company to offer this on the Go either after the launch or as accessories during the launch itself.

I’ve seen the Datsun Go at a mall display yesterday and have to admit, I’m mighty impressed with what I’ve seen. It just cannot be called a budget or entry level car, it would put a lot of upmarket hatches to shame. Massive space, very stylish design with a strong stance, looks like built to last. Alto, Eon just not a worthwhile comparison. Need to consider a step above.

Good lesson for the (blind )Maruti loving public about a real Value for Money offering.

Only God know how it will survive in the small hatchback market, which is dominated by msil and to some extent Hyundai.
