Nissan has started the bookings for the Datsun Go hatchback. The Go will go on sale next month, and interested customers can pre-book the car at Nissan dealerships for a sum of INR 11,000. The first set of display cars will arrive towards the end of this month, or beginning next month.
Dealers inform us that two variants will be offered - a low-end and a top-end. Both variants will be priced below INR 4 lakhs ex-Showroom, All India. For now, the Go will be sold in four body colors - blue, white, red and gray. Nissan will offer a 2 years unlimited warranty on the car.
Powered by a three-cylinder, 1.2-liter engine, the Go outputs close to 68 PS and 104 Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 5-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels. The ARAI rated fuel efficiency claim for the Go stands at 20.6 km/l.
The Go measures 3,785 mm in length, 1,635 mm in width, 1,485 mm in height and 2,450 mm in wheelbase. Late last year, Datsun conducted a nation-wide roadshow of the Go, wherein the hatchback was displayed at frequently visited shopping malls in major cities such as Mumbai, Chennai and New Delhi.
Production of the Go commenced at Renault-Nissan's Oragadam facility earlier this month. Datsun says that it will make 60,000 units/annum of the Go.
