After teasing us at the 2012 Auto Expo nearly two years ago, Triumph Motorcycles will be launching in India on November 28th. Though the date is confirmed by the company, we are still unaware about the exact models that will be launched first, or even the number of dealerships and their locations.
We can speculate in saying that the Bonneville, Speed Triple and Street Triple could be among the first products from the Leicestershire-based company. We are also aware that the company has appointed Mr. Vimal Sumbly, former General Manager of Sales at Bajaj Auto, as the brand head in India.
Triumph India will begin CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly of some of their motorcycles at their plant in Manesar, Haryana. Earlier this month, spyshots of boxed Triumph motorcycles awaiting their custom clearances at the Delhi Airport had also emerged.
The Triumph range in India is expected to start at about INR 5.5 lakhs and extend up to INR 22 lakhs.
The month of November seems to have a lot in store for car and bike enthusiasts alike. While the upcoming SEMA Show, Tokyo Motor Show and LA Auto Show will keep the car enthusiasts entertained, bike enthusiasts can anticipate our updates from the EICMA, the launch of the Royal Enfield Continental GT and Triumph's entry into India.
